I thoroughly believe that we can make and inspire positive environmental change by adopting small sustainable lifestyle changes, including reusing what we can, buying local, fresh, wholesome and unprocessed foods and trying to minimise waste by stepping back as much as is viable from the consumerist lifestyle that is impressed upon us. By focusing on finding even brief moments of happiness in everyday life, we can begin to see that consumption might not actually make us as happy as we may think and that true happiness is found in human connection and experience.
In order to take care of the earth, we also need to take care of ourselves. This can be done through eating well, exercising regularly and taking time out to pause and reflect. Looking after our mental health and wellbeing is just as important as looking after the earth. By taking time out and reconnecting with ourselves and nature, we can begin the process of healing the environment, all the while healing ourselves.
